Salman Rushdie disappointed with Rajasthan and Indian politician

Salman Rushdie one of the famous novelist and I must say controversial book writer. Almost at the age of my dad he is still is lime light, sometime for his personal relationships, marriages and some times for his books and controversial subjects.

Even he is not able to attend the Jaipur Literature Festival in India but all the news channels and social media is covering this event and flashing his news, comments and thoughts 24 x 7.

This time he is in public eye because of his book ‘Satanic Verses’. Salman Rushdie is not able to attend the Jaipur Literature Festival after Rajasthan police and government show security concerns on his visit. Infact reading some lines from the book in the festival also faced oppose from religious groups.

Two days ago Salman tweeted and disclosed that Rajistahn police and government lied to him so that he cancel his visit to India. According to Salman whole story is created to influence religious groups and gain fame in upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections.

In his recent interview to NDTV he openly said his views on government and politician, he said “Politicians in bed with extremist groups” . Salman is highly disappointed with Indian politicians and government of India, he said “Government failed in its responsibility“. He also showed his anger on extremist and said “Extremist are the real enemies of Islam”. Salman feels that it is quite strange and astonishing that what happen suddenly to India, he visited India many times in last few years and this time not his physical presence but his image on video is also not acceptable. It is totally motivated and supported by government just to gain vote bank from Uttar Pradesh elections.

‘Satanic Verses’ is the book written by Salman Ruhdie in 1988 and it is the most controversial work he had done. Salman Rushdie won many awards for this book and one of the finalists for ‘Booker Prize’. ‘Satanic Verses‘ is story based on life of ‘Muhammad’.

In his interview he thanked to writers who read from book ‘Satanic Verses’ and promised that he will come to India.  He also told about his upcoming movie on his book “Midnight’s Children“ .
